Jordan was captivated at an early age by shows like Modern Marvels and How it’s Made and how engineers managed to solve these obscure problems that have a real impact on our daily lives. He has always been interested in figuring out how objects and systems work. This ultimately inspired Jordan to follow a career where he too could solve unique, complex issues by using his affinity for math and science.

Jordan has had the opportunity to work on projects all over the country, but a couple of projects have proven as pivotal moments in his professional career. Early on in his career, Jordan began working on two coinciding high-rise projects. They truly were a stepping stone to more complex projects. He soon realized that he enjoyed the challenge. Every building design and construction process has unique obstacles while also providing an opportunity to positively impact the community around them. These types of projects put him in a scenario where he gained experience as a lead mechanical and plumbing engineer and developed a skillset for tackling unique design challenges. These experiences have led Jordan to become a firm project manager who uses his knowledge and expertise to mentor up-and-coming engineers on projects in a similar manner to what helped jumpstart his passion for the field.

Jordan encourages the future of engineering to continue to expand into a more holistic approach. For engineers to continue to think beyond project-specific solutions, they should think about how those solutions affect their design partners and how the design impacts the communities around them and into the future. Jordan incorporates this motivation to help his design in every project or client interaction he is involved with. The process starts with every small, intentional thought that can be shared to better the project with the firm’s trade partners, resulting in a long-lasting impact.
