PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In 2013, the Indianola, Iowa, community voters approved a bond referendum to finance upgrades to the Indianola Community School District, including multiple elementary schools and the community’s high school. Enhancements to Indianola High School focused on various building improvements, security and life safety system upgrades, and site improvements.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
- Relocated administration offices for improved single-point security.
- The facility’s Family Consumer Science classrooms were upgraded and enhanced.
- The renovation of the facility included improved school conference areas.
- The security/life safety improvements included:
- Single point of entry during school hours.
- Secondary entry is to remain locked during school hours.
- Door monitoring on all exterior doors.
- Interior door lock upgrades.
- Additional site improvements included:
- New parking lot cameras.
